Cowboy Baseball Season Ends
May 30, 2005 | Cowboy Baseball
“We play all year to put us in a position to make the postseason and we did not set ourselves up well with the way we played the last three or four weeks of the year,” said second-year head coach Frank Anderson. OSU finished with a 34-25 overall record and in sixth place in the Big 12 with a 12-15 mark. The Cowboys went 1-2 in the conference tournament last week in Oklahoma City, with losses to NCAA No. 1 seeds Baylor and Texas.
The Cowboys lose a couple of seniors stalwarts in pitcher Scott Richmond and third baseman Rusty Ryal and have several players eligible for the amateur baseball draft next month.
OSU will return all three outfield starters next season, anchored by the Big 12 Freshman of the Year Corey Brown.
