On January 8, 2001, the $56 million Athletics Center officially debuted in grand fashion, quickly garnering praise as one of the nation's finest athletic facilities. This one-of-a-kind complex serves every OSU sport with its many amenities, including an academic center, strength and conditioning facility, sports medicine and training center, auxiliary gym, team meeting and locker rooms, coaches? offices and more. As the centerpiece of the project, historic Gallagher-Iba Arena was expanded to 13,611 (more than twice its former size) and was quickly named the nation's No. 1 college basketball venue by CBS Sportsline.
