Cowboys Fall To Baylor 6-3

The Bears evened the series and improved to 16-9 overall and 4-1 in Big 12 play, while Oklahoma State fell to 18-8 and 3-2 in league action.
Josh Ford gave the Bears the early lead with a two-run homerun to left field in the third inning. OSU came back to tie it in the bottom half, when shortstop laced a RBI triple to right field and then later scored on a throwing error by shortstop Paul Witt.
Josh Ford and Zach Dillon led off the Baylor sixth with singles and then each advanced a base on a passed ball by catcher . After a Reid Brees groundout, Russo then lined his single up the middle scoring both runners. He would score later in the inning on a single by Paul Witt to make it 5-2.
The Cowboys scored their final run in the bottom of the sixth on a RBI single by , one of just four hits for the team on the day.
The Bears added their final run of the day on a sacrifice fly by Dillon in the seventh.
Baylor ace Mark McCormick (3-1) went 6.1 innings and gave up three runs, two earned, on four hits with four strikeouts and four walks in the winning effort. Reliever Ryan LaMotta pitched a perfect 2.2 innings of relief to pick up his first save of the year.
Junior (1-1) made his first start in a Cowboy uniform and was charged with the loss. He gave up five runs, four earned, on six hits in six innings of action. Reliever pitched the final three innings and allowed only one unearned run on one hit.
