Adam Daniels scattered eight hits and allowed one run over 5.1 innings of work to pick up the win to improve to 4-1 on the year.
The Cowboy offense was on fire throughout the game, scoring a run in every inning. The Pokes scored a run in the first to take an early 1-0 lead. The Panthers tied the game in the second on a RBI single by third baseman Matt Curran.
OSU plated three runs in the bottom of the second on RBI doubles by Chris Gutierrez, Justin Colbert and Mike Hernandez. They added three more runs in the third to break the contest open. Steve Ptak had a two-run double and Rusty Ryal an RBI single in the stanza.
OSU plated two runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to extend the lead to 13-1. Designated hitter Cody Merrell had a two-run homer in the fourth, then followed Jeff Parrish's solo homer in the sixth with one of his own, his second round-tripper of the game.
Parrish added an RBI single in the seventh before the Pokes plated six runs in the eighth to close out their scoring in the contest. Corey Brown and Abe Aguirre had two-run homers in the inning and Keanon Simon added a two-run single and had two hits in the stanza.
UWM scored two runs off of reliever Michael Jarman to close out the game in the ninth. Parrish and Gutierrez led the Cowboys with four hits on the day, while Ryal, Hernandez and Merrell chipped in with three hits each.
Second baseman Jesse Hart and designated hitter Blake Kangas led the Panthers with three hits on the day. Starter Robert Michalkiewicz (0-2) was charged with the loss, giving up nine runs on 11 hits in 3.1 innings of work.
