Cowboys Rally to Defeat Huskers, 19-18

OSU improved to 18-0 on the season and 4-0 in the Big 12, while Nebraska fell to 16-2-1 and 1-1 in conference meets.
The Cowboys trailed for most of the dual, only holding a slim lead after three individual matches. OSU led after 133, 149 and held the lead at the end of the heavyweight match.
Nebraska struck first when eighth ranked Matt Keller, recorded a tight decision over OSU's Derek Stevens, filling in for Coleman Scott. The Cowboys grabbed the lead with Nathan Morgan, however. Morgan got a late takedown in the third period to record a major decision over Dominick Moyer.
At 141, Daniel Frishkorn recorded the first takedown of the match, and was leading sixth-ranked Matt Murray heading into the third period. Murray, however, grabbed a quick escape and hit Frishkorn with a five-point move on a takedown and a three-point near fall and gave the Huskers the lead back with a 9-4 decision.
The Cowboys took an 8-6 lead in the dual at 149. Esposito recorded 11 takedowns over David Ingalls and finished the match early with a tech. fall, but he did not receive a near fall count so OSU only got four team points instead of five.
Nebraska won the next two matches at 157 and 165 to build a 15-8 lead in the dual. Kevin Ward was battling No. 13 B.J. Wright in a tight match, but got caught in the third period and ended up getting himself pinned. Johny Hendricks suffered a minor upset at the hands of ninth-ranked Jacob Klein.
Chris Pendleton was able to pull the dual within reach with a major decision over Marc Harwood.
Clay Kehrer enjoyed a solid ride over Travis Pascoe in the second period, but was called for locking his hands twice and gave up two points. Pascoe hit Kehrer for three takedowns in the third period to pull away. Kehrer was called for his second stalling warning in the third period as well, but a scoring error only gave Pascoe one point instead of two for it being the third technical violation. Pascoe did win the match by a score of 11-4.
The Cowboys trailed the Huskers by a score of 18-12, with two matches remaining. Jake Rosholt got all the points that he would need in the third period with an escape and a takedown, and defeated No. 17 B.J. Padden 3-2.
Mocco once again snatched a victory for the Cowboys by scoring 10 first period points over Mitch Manstedt, and holding on for a 12-2 major decision.
The Cowboys will stay on the road this weekend when they face No. 16 Hofstra in Hempstead, N.Y. on Sunday at 9 a.m., followed by a dual against fourth-ranked Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa., at 5 p.m.
