Cowboys Fall to Western Illinois 6-5

WIU (28-34) defeated OSU (33-19) for the first time in 13 tries. Patrick Kohorst earned the victory for the Leathernecks to improve to 8-5.
Rod Allen hit two homeruns for the Cowboys in a losing effort and Brent Weaver had a strong outing after he replaced Aaron Whitehead in the first inning. Weaver gave up two runs on seven hits in six innings of work.
Rod Allen made it 4-3 with his team leading 11th homerun of the season.
OSU answered with two runs of its own in the seventh inning. Allen got it started by connecting on his second homerun of the game off of the screen in left field. Chris Gutierrez and Keanon Simon followed with a double and single, respectively, to make it 6-5.
Nathan Miller pitched the final two and two-thirds innings for the Leathernecks to earn his fourth save of the season. Miller now holds the school record at
