Cowboy Golf In Third Place At Morris Williams Intercollegiate

The second round of play was suspended due to darkness with three of the 15 participating teams still on the course. Players from Virginia, Texas A&M and Pepperdine will conclude their rounds at 7:15 tomorrow morning before a shotgun start at approximately 8:30 a.m. at the par-72, 6,906-yard layout.
Three Cowboys, Casey Wittenberg, Tyler Leon and Zack Robinson, broke par on the day and will begin play tomorrow in the top 20. OSU will begin its final round four shots off the pace of second-place TCU and five behind Brigham Young.
Wittenberg led the charge in the individual race. opening play with a one-under 71 during his first round and matched his score in the second round after recording birdies on three of his last five holes. The true freshman will begin play tied for 13th place at 142, two-under, and 10 shots off the place of Arkansas' Andrew Dahl for the individual lead.
Leon and Robinson are tied with six other players for 16th place at one-under-par, 143. Leon, a true freshman, carded an even-par 72 before a front nine that included four birdies during his second 18 holes on his way to a 71. Robinson, a sophomore, got off to a steady start with two birdies and seven pars during the morning round en route to a 71 before coming in with a 72 during his second round.
True freshman Zac Reynolds opened play with birdies on three of his first five holes to help card a career-low round of 72 before closing with a 73 to stand in a four-way tie for 26th place at one-over-par.
Junior Alex Norén rebounded from a 76 during his first round with a one-under 71 in the afternoon that included six birdies to end play tied for 33rd place at 147, three-over.
Sophomore Chris Clarke, who is competing as an individual, rounded out the OSU lineup with a 161, 17-over, total after recording rounds of 79 and 82.
