Cowboy Baseball Ranked No. 23 In Preaseason Poll

The Cowboys are coming off a 38-24 season which culminated in capturing their first Big 12 tournament championship as well as a berth in NCAA post season play under first-year head coach Frank Anderson.
Only two other Big 12 teams were ranked ahead of OSU in the poll with Texas leading the way at No. 1. Texas A&M was ranked No. 10, Baylor No. 25 and Nebraska was No. 31 to round out the other conference teams in the poll.
OSU has four position starters returning, led by All-Big 12 shortstop Chris Gutierrez, to go along with several newcomers in a recruiting class that was ranked fourth in the nation by the same publication.
The Cowboys open the 2005 regular season with a three-game series against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Feb. 4-6 in Stillwater.
