Baseball to Induct Three into Hall of Fame

Jimmy Barragan was a two-time All-American and All-Big Eight selection during his stay at OSU from 1985-87. He helped lead the Cowboys to three consecutive College World Series appearances and was named the Midwest Regional Most Valuable Player in 1986 and to the CWS All-Tournament team after the 1987 campaign. Barragan ended his career with a .377 batting average with 54 homeruns and 231 RBI. He holds school records for hits in a game with six and putouts with 607. The San Diego, Calif. native was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 19th round of the 1987 draft and played in their organization for four years and with the San Diego Padres for one season.
Gary Green played for OSU from 1981-84 and was a four-year starter at shortstop for the Cowboys. Green helped lead Oklahoma State to the first three of seven consecutive College World Series and was named to the CWS All-Tournament team in 1984. He earned All-American plaudits after the 1984 season and twice was named to the All-Big Eight team after the 1982 and 1984 campaigns. Green finished his OSU career with a .335 batting average with 121 RBI and 70 stolen bases. He was a member of the United States Olympic team in 1984 and was drafted in the first round that same year by the San Diego Padres. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native played with the Padres, Rangers and Reds organizations before finishing his career in 1993.
Wayne Weatherly was a multi-dimensional outfielder with OSU during the 1966-68 seasons. Weatherly was named to the College World Series All-Decade Team of the 1960's after leading the Cowboys to three straight CWS appearances from 1966-68. He was an All-American and All-Big Eight selection in 1968 and was a CWS All-Tournament selection after the 1966 and 1968 seasons. Weatherly finished his collegiate career with a .287 batting average with two homeruns and 48 RBI. The Stillwater, Okla. native signed a professional contract with the Chicago White Sox after the 1968 season.
All three will be inducted into the OSU Baseball Hall of Fame in a special banquet ceremony scheduled to take place next February
