Fifth-ranked OSU Golfers Open Spring Season in Hawaii
April 15, 2003 | Cowboy Golf
The Cowboys will compete Wednesday through Friday against a field that includes seven of the nation's top 25 teams, including defending national champion and fourth-ranked UNLV.
The Cowboys, ranked fifth in the nation in the latest MasterCard Collegiate Golf Rankings, will send Howell, a sophomore, and Loar, a junior, to the event along with junior Landry Mahan and freshmen Anders Hultman and Nick Seymour.
Oklahoma State has enjoyed a great deal of success at the Burns Intercollegiate. The Cowboys had won the event in its last four entries until last year's still-impressive third-place showing. Howell finished third last season with a 12-under score of 204.
The tournament is played at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course, a 6,512-yard, par-72 track located on the windward side of the island of Oahu. Because of the time change, results may not be available until the morning after each day of the event
