Men's Track Competes in John McDonnell Invitational

Fayetteville, Ark. - Oklahoma State's men's track team continued its outdoor season Saturday at the John McDonnell Invitational on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
The Cowboys were led by three second-place performances and one victory on the afternoon. In the 3,000m run, Gregory Rouault recorded a time of 8:13.74 to cross the finish line in second, and Derek Tate ran to a victory in the Section B 3,000m run, taking the top spot in 8:30.59. Ben Sigle ran the 3,000m steeplechase in 9:22.35 and Kinneth Jones also sprinted to a runner-up finish in the 400m Section B race with a time of 48.35.
Oklahoma State had several more top ten runners. In the 1,500m run, Matt Thomson recorded a tenth-place finish in Section A, and Ben Lake and Sean McCabe took fourth and ninth, respectively, in the Section B race. Justin Nobles ran to a seventh-place finish in the 800m with a time of 1:50.89, and Andy Rihn took eighth in the Section B race. The Pokes are scheduled to be in action the next two weekends, traveling to the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif. on April 17-19 and then the Penn Relays in Philadelphia on April 25 and 26.
