Cowboy Track Places 10th at Big 12 Championships

Lincoln, Neb. - Oklahoma State's men's indoor track team placed 10th this weekend at the Big 12 Championships inside the Bob Devaney Sports Center Track in Lincoln, Neb.
Host Nebraska won its fourth straight title, edging out Texas by half a point to capture the crown. OSU compiled 36 team points, one-third of a point behind ninth-place Kansas and only two points shy of eighth-place Colorado.
The Cowboys were led by junior Jason Woolhouse, who won the mile with a time of 4:07.89 and placed third in the 3,000-meter run.
The Pokes had strong showings from Ben Sigle, who ran to a fifth-place finish in the mile, and Ben Lake, who took 10th in the 3,000-meter run in a field of 53 competitors. Greg Rouault also crossed the finish line in fourth-place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:29.12.
Freshman Daniel McLemore sprinted to a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter dash in only his third meet as a Cowboy. In his semi-final heat, McLemore ran the NCAA provisional qualifying time of 6.72 seconds.
The distance medley relay team of Kinneth Jones, Ben Lake, Justin Nobles, and Cassidy Smith turned in its best time of the year at 9:50.85, good for third-place and less than one second from victory.
OSU will next compete in the NCAA Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Complex in Fayetteville, Ark. on March 14 and 15.
