Robbie Wine and Greg Evans Named Assistant Baseball Coaches

?I am excited to have both Robbie and Greg on staff as they both bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their respective positions,? said Anderson.
Wine will now enter his eighth season at OSU and will focus on the Cowboy offense, which finished second in the Big 12 in batting average, homers and slugging percentage in 2003. Under his tutelage, the Cowboys have finished in the top four in the Big 12 in homers, RBIs and runs scored in six of his seven seasons in Stillwater.
?I am glad that we were able to keep Robbie on staff, as he is well liked by the players and has maintained the exciting offenses that Oklahoma State has been known for over the years,? said Anderson.
Evans, spent nine seasons at Texas Tech as the first base and infield coach. His primary duties included working with the Red Raider defense as well as playing a significant role in recruiting. Under Evans tutelage, Tech finished tied for second in the Big 12 with with a .968 fielding percentage in 2003. The defense was ranked in the top five in the nation in 1999 with a .971 mark, which was also the percentage the team had in 2001 when it lead the conference. In 2002, Tech finished with a .966 mark, good for third in the league
?Greg is a high energy guy who the players respond to on the field. He will be an invaluable resource in our recruiting efforts and I am excited to be working with him again,? stated Anderson.
Evans was an assistant at Texas Tech from 1993-95 and left the Red Raiders in 1996 to become the head coach at Grayson County Junior College. Evans then served as an area scout with the Montreal Expos in 1997 prior to his return to Lubbock.
He played at Ole Miss from 1981-85, where he saw time at second and third base as well as in the outfield. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration in 1985 and received his Master's degree in Sports Administration from Texas Tech in 1987.
He began his coaching career as an assistant at Lubbock Christian University from 1988-90, before serving as the head coach at Frank Phillips Junior College from 1990-92.
Evans and his wife, Allyn, have a six-year old daughter named Kathryn Adele.
