Cowboys Compete at the Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Oklahoma State's men's track and field team shattered the school record in the 4x1 mile relay this past weekend at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. The three day event was held at Franklin Field and involved top teams from around the country. The total attendance of the event was 122,000 including a saturday attendance of 52,000.
For the second consecutive week the Cowboys broke the 4x1 mile school record. The team of Derek Tate, Ben Lake, Ben Sigle and Jason Woolhouse finshed in eighth place with a time of 16:42.24. This broke the school record time of 17:04.13 that was set last weekend at the Kansas Relays
In the 3000m Steeplechase, junior Ben Sigle placed third in the race with a time of 9:07.97. Sigle edged out teammate Chris McWatters who finished fourth with a time of 9:08.70.
Junior Ewen North placed seventh in the 5,000m run. The Shropshire, England, native recorded a time of 14:32.45. Junior Gregory Rouault finished 20th with a time of 30:20.62 in the championship division of the 10,000m run.
The Cowboys recorded a fifth place finish in the Distance Medley Relay. The team of Matt Thomson, Kinnith Jones, Seth Hawkins and Jason Woolhouse finished with a time of 9:58.55
The Pokes will compete in the UTA Open in Arlington, Texas, and the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif, this weekend.
