Cowgirls Compete Against Nation's Best at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Oklahoma State's women's outdoor track and field team had four individuals compete in the Penn Relays yesterday and today, Apr. 25-26 in Philadelphia, Pa. at historic Franklin Field.
Freshman Alison Erzinger had a repeat performance from the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational last weekend by running the 400-meter hurdles in 1 minute, 02.71 seconds. Erzinger finished 26th in a highly competitve field. Leshinda Demus of South Carolina won the race with a time of 56.64 seconds.
Senior Paula Gowing ran in the 5,000-meter run and shared the same result as Erzinger. Gowing finished 26th with a time of 17:18.86. Mary Proulx of Keene State won the event with a time of 16:29.79.
Freshman Maria Berggren took part in the triple jump in today's competition. Berggren finished 11th with a jump of 38 feet, 07 inches.
The Cowgirls will return to California to take part in the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. on May 4.
