Cowgirl Track Heads East For Penn Relays

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's track and field team will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. for the Penn Relays beginning tomorrow, Apr. 24 and lasting until Apr. 27, just four days after returning from California.
Paula Gowing, Valentina Medina and Siri Alfheim will compete in the 5,000-meter run. Medina is coming off of a provisional qualifying time in the 1,500-meter run of 4 minutes, 23.85 seconds at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. on Apr. 20. Alfheim was the national champion in this event during the indoor season. Gowing set a school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Texas Relays on Apr. 5 with a time of 11:02.68.
Alison Erzinger will compete in the 400-meter hurdles. She set a personal best in the event at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Apr. 19 in Claremont, Calif. with a time of 1:01.02.
Paula Ogunbanjo and Maria Berggren will both compete in the triple jump. Ogunbanjo jumped 40 feet, 5 inches this past weekend at the Long Beach State Invitational in Long Beach, Calif. on Apr. 20. Berggren was fourth in the Big 12 during indoor season. Ogunbanjo will also compete in the long jump.
