Oklahoma State opens up a six-game homestand on Tuesday with a two-game series against Memphis at Reynolds Stadium. The Cowboys and Tigers will play at 3 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
About Memphis
Memphis is 5-12 on the season and 2-4 in Conference USA action after taking two of three from South Florida at home over the weekend.
Head coach Dave Anderson is 39-36 in his second season at his alma mater. The former Los Angeles Dodger spent 10 years in the major leagues after getting drafted in the first round of the 1981 amateur baseball draft. He took over a Tiger team that finished a school-worst 15-37 in 2000 and guided the squad to a 34-24 mark and fifth place finish in the league. The 26-game turnaround was the best in Division I baseball a year ago.
Memphis is led offensively by outfielder Paul Cookman, who was named C-USA Player of the Week after he batted .636 (7-for-11) with a double, triple and two stolen bases against South Florida over the weekend. As a team the Tigers are hitting at a .264 clip with 16 homers and 98 runs scored.
Slated to pitch Tuesday for Memphis is junior righthander Joel Posey who is 0-3 on the year with a 6.87 ERA. He gave up three runs on four hits in 1.2 innings of relief work against South Florida on Saturday. Wednesday's pitcher is to be announced.

Oklahoma State leads the all-time series on the baseball diamond 2-1, with Memphis picking up a 12-4 win the last time the two teams met in 1994.

On The Mound
Righthanders Chris Reilly is slated to get the nod on the mound on Tuesday while Wednesday's starter is yet to be determined.
Reilly pitched the Cowboys first complete game of the year in a 5-2 win over Louisville last Wednesday. He was two outs away from throwing a shutout before giving up a two-run homer. He is the team leader in wins and ERA entering Tuesday's game.

Oklahoma State Picks Up Win 2000
Oklahoma State's 16-6 victory over Kansas State last Friday marked the Cowboys 2000th win in the 89-year history of the program. OSU is now 2001-963-4 all-time which is the 22nd best record in the history of Division I baseball. The Cowboys .674 winning percentage is second among Big 12 schools behind Texas' .761 mark. .
On Deck
The Cowboys are home Easter Weekend and will take on Kansas in Big 12 action. The teams will play Friday at 3 p.m. and on Saturday at 2 p.m. The teams will close out the series on Easter Sunday at 2 p.m. OSU will then round out its six-game homestand against Arkansas State on Tuesday, April 2 at 3 p.m.
Powell Named Big 12 Player of the Week
Senior third baseman Paul Powell has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Baseball Player of the Week, in voting by a select panel of media covering Big 12 baseball for games played from Mar. 18-24.
Powell exploded for a .500 average (7-for-14) with three homers and seven RBI in the Cowboys' 2-for-3 performance at Kansas State over the weekend. He hit a grand slam homer that sparked a 12-run sixth inning against K-State in OSU's 16-6 win last Friday.
The Cushing native also hit a homer in both games of a doubleheader Saturday to raise his average to .474 in Big 12 play (five games) with four homers and 11 RBI.
This marks the first time a Cowboy has received the award this season.
The Polls
The Cowboys are ranked No. 21 in the Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches Poll and No. 27 in Collegiate Baseball this week. OSU is one of seven Big 12 teams ranked in the Top 30 in the country by the various polls. The highest ranking Big 12 team in any of the polls is Nebraska at No. 8 by Baseball America.
