Cowboy Track to Compete in Iowa State Classic

STILLATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's men's track and field team will head to Ames, Iowa, to participate in the Iowa State Classic on Feb. 9. at the Lied Recreation Center.
The two-day event will start on Feb. 8, but the Cowboys will not compete until Feb. 9. Saturday's events will start at 10 a.m. with the men's 3,000-meter run. The two-day event will feature 50 teams from around the country.
The Pokes are coming off several strong individual performances at last week's Tyson Individual. With a time of 8:01.47 in the 3000m junior Jason Woolhouse became a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Championships. Juniors Ben Lake and Ben Sigle also had success in the 3000m by placing seventh and eighth, respectively. Sophomore Matt Thomson also fared well, placing fifth in the 800m.
The Cowboys will return to action on Feb. 22-23 to compete for the Big 12 Championship in Lincoln, Neb.
