Cowgirl Track Competes With the Best

FAYETTEVILLE Ark. - Oklahoma State's women's indoor track and field team competed against some stout competition at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., at the Randal Tyson Track Center on Feb. 1-2.

Freshman Alison Erzinger was 25th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.85, while sophomore Sharalee Sparks was 19th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:50.33. Former Cowgirl All-American Sara Wells won the 5,000-meter run as an unattached runner with a time of 16:24.53.

Senior Stephani Duff finished 27th in the long jump with a distance of 17'7." Freshman Paula Ogunbanjo was 29th and freshman Melissa Ndubilo was 31st with jumps of 17'0.75" and 16'9.25," respectively.

Elva Goldbourne of Auburn automatically qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the long jump with a distance of 21'1.5."

The Cowgirls will next be in action at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, on Feb. 8-9.
