Cowgirl Track Starts Strong

LINCOLN, Neb. - Oklahoma State's women's indoor track and field team opened Big 12 competition at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Neb., with Alexandra Lindquist and Valentina Medina in the prelims for the mile run.
Medina passed Lindquist on the final lap to claim first place in the first heat with times ofl 4 minutes, 56.66 seconds and 4:56.99, respectively. Both individuals qualified for the finals to be held tomorrow afternoon.
"They ran a very smart race. I am very pleased with their performance, said head coach Catrina Acosta."
Alison Erzinger is next to compete in the 600-yard dash. Desiree Brown, Melissa Ndubilo and Paula Ogunbanjo will compete in the long jump.
