Josh Holliday Named Assistant Baseball Coach

The move is part of a restructuring of the baseball staff that was necessary due to the departure of assistant coach John Farrell in August.
Josh Holliday will assist five-year assistant coach Robbie Wine in various capacities, including the recruitment of student-athletes and the development of the position players.
Head coach Tom Holliday will take over the pitching coach responsiblities, a task he is familiar with after spending 19 seasons in that position from 1977-96.
Rounding out the baseball staff will be former Oklahoma State pitching standout Jason Bell, a 2001 inductee into the Cowboy Baseball Hall of Fame. Bell will be the volunteer assistant coach and will help Tom Holliday with the everyday conditioning and progression of the pitching staff.
"I firmly believe Josh brings a unique talent to the program that will benefit everybody," stated Coach Holliday. "He is a special person and a great teaching talent who relates to the young student-athlete in the areas of academics and personal development. His talents reach out to all phases of our profession and his record of accomplishments speak for itself."
"With the addition of Josh and Jason to our staff, I strongly believe that Oklahoma State has one of the strongest baseball staffs in the country," stated Tom Holliday.
Josh Holliday was a four-year starter for the Cowboys from 1996-1999 and helped lead Oklahoma State to two College World Series appearances in that span.
He was the OSU Male Student Athlete of the Year in 1999 and received All-America honors for his accomplishment both on the field and in the classroom.
Holliday was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the ninth round following the 1999 campaign and played two seasons for the organization before coming back to Oklahoma State as a volunteer assistant coach in the fall of 2000.
Jason Bell
Bell was one of the top Cowboy pitchers of the 1990's and has his named scattered throughout the OSU record books.
He pitched at OSU from 1993-95 and posted a career record of 31-8 with a 3.60 ERA. Bell was a two-time All-American, receiving the award in both his junior and senior seasons.
Bell was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the second round of the amateur baseball draft in 1995 and played in their organization from 1995-1999. In 2000 Bell signed a contract with the Toronto Blue Jays and played for their Triple A affiliate, the Syracuse Sky Chiefs for two seasons.
Bell currently resides in Stillwater with his wife Tracy.
