Cowboy Golf Finishes Fourth At Red River Classic

DALLAS, Texas - Oklahoma State's men's golf team climbed two spots during the final round of the Red River Classic at the Dallas Athletic Club to finish in fourth place on Tuesday morning.
The Cowboys fired a 12-under-par team score of 276 to finish the event at 18-under and 12 shots behind tournament winner Texas.
Individually, senior Anders Hultman picked up his first top-ten finish of the season after breaking par for the third consecutive round. The Gothenburg, Sweden, native followed rounds of 69 and 68 with a two-under 70 to finish tied for fourth at nine-under-par.
Sophomore Matt McQuillan blistered the course on Tuesday, carding a six-under 66 to move into a tie for tenth place with a 54-hole total of 210.
Junior J.C. DeLeon recorded his best round of the tournament, bettering par by two strokes with a final-round 70 to finish tied for 27th at one-under.
Last year's individual champion, Hunter Mahan, fired a 70 during his final round. The sophomore, who was disqualified from the individual race after the first round due to a scorecard reporting error, bounced back to play his final 36 holes two strokes below par.
Sophomore P?r Nilsson tied for 59th after turning in a three-over 75 to finish play at five-over-par.
The Cowboys will return to action on Oct. 15 when they travel to Birmingham, Ala., for the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate.
