Baseball Falls In Series Finale To Texas Tech, 7-3

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Chaz Eiguren's RBI double in the seventh inning plated Marco Cunningham with the go-ahead run as Texas Tech defeated Oklahoma State 7-3 in baseball action Sunday afternoon in Stillwater.
Kevin Tracey (8-6) pitched the complete game for the Red Raiders, allowing three runs on nine hits while walking and striking out four. Frank Bludau (5-5) took the loss in relief allowing two runs in 1.2 innings with two strikeouts.
Texas Tech improved to 33-22 overall and 18-12 in the Big 12 while the Cowboys, who took the first two games of the series, dropped to 36-20 and 14-13 in conference play.
Tech jumped out to an 1-0 lead in the second before OSU rallied for two runs in the third to take a 2-1 advantage. Carl--s Gautreaux and Luke Scott both doubled in runs in the inning.
The Red Raiders tied the game in the fifth when Cowboy starter Mike Miller walked Jason Rainey with the bases loaded. They then took the lead in the seventh off of Eiguren's double and a RBI single by Rainey.
Nebasett Brown's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh cut the lead to 4-3 before Tech broke it open with a three-run ninth to go ahead 7-3.
Jason Rainey led the Red Raiders at the plate with a 4-for-4 day and four RBIs while Luke Scott paced the Pokes with three hits.
Oklahoma State finished the regular season in sixth place in the Big 12 and will face third place finisher Oklahoma in the opening game of the conference tournament Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Oklahoma City. Cowboy ace Matt Smith (8-6, 3.06 ERA) will get the nod on the mound in the opener while Josh Merrigan (8-2, 2.71 ERA) will start Thursday's contest.
