STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's men's track team will make a familiar trek to Joplin, Mo., for the Missouri Southern Radio Shack Crossroads Invitational this Friday.
The Cowboys are familiar with Joplin and Missouri Southern as they also attended two indoor meets there earlier in the year.
The meet begins with the men's hammer at 1 p.m. and the field events running throughout the day. Running events will begin at 2:30 p.m. with the women's 5,000m run and continue with a rolling schedule, ending with the 10,000m run.
OSU is coming off a rain-shortened Southwestern Track & Field Invitational Meet in Fort Worth, Texas, last weekend.
The 5,000-meter race, among others, was canceled at the meet, but OSU still competed in the 1,500m run, the steeplechase, the 100m dash and the 400m dash.
Ben Sigle ran away with the title in the 3,000m steeplechase. He finished the race in 9:34.53, well ahead of Texas-Arlington's Glenn Dutcher, who finished second in 9:38.46.
In the 1,500m race, the Cowboys took five of the top 10 spots. Ben Lake finished right behind unattached runner Clyde Colenso to take second. Colenso crossed the line in 3:56.27, and Lake had a time of 3:56.73. Mike Cliff and Derek Tate finished in fourth and fifth, respectively. Junior Vasquez was seventh, while Ben Tickner was ninth.
