Setting The Scene:
Oklahoma State, winners of five of its last six, renews a rivalry
with an familiar aquaintance as Arkansas comes to town Tuesday night. The
Cowboys and Razorbacks will battle at 6 p.m. in the first game of a home
and home series that will continue next Tuesday in Fayetteville.
The contest will air on the Cowboy Baseball Radio Network (93.7) with Rex Holt (play-by-play) and former OSU standout Ryan Folmar (analyst) calling the action.
About Arkansas:
Arkansas is 13-12 on the year after getting swept by Auburn in
Fayetteville over the weeend. The Razorbacks have dropped their last six
games overall with their last win a 14-5 decision at Tennessee on Mar. 11.
Third baseman Kyle Washburn leads the team with a .381 batting average and 32 hits. Rightfielder Brian Kirby is the Razorbacks top power source with five homers andseven doubles.
Righthander Charlie Isaacson will get the start on the mound. Isaacson has only pitched in two games this season due to injury and sports a 1-1 record with a 5.40 ERA. His last appearance was against Nebraska on Feb. 20.
Arkansas head coach Norm DeBriyn is in his 31st year as the pilot of the Razorback program and has posted a 1,088-575-6 record during that span. Last season DeBriyn led the Hogs to the Southeastern Conference Western Division title and a 42-23 record.
The Series:
It will be the first meeting between the two schools in two years
and first in Stillwater since the 1995 season. The Cowboys own a 39-15
series lead over the Razorbacks and have won the last four meetings between
the schools. Arkansas' last win over Oklahoma State was a 13-9 decision on
