Cowboy wrestlers sweep Cliff Keen Kickoff Classic

TULSA, Okla. -- Oklahoma State swept all 10 titles at the second-annual Cliff Keen Kickoff Classic on Saturday afternoon in the Tulsa Convention Center.
Verdicts at 133 and 285 pounds highlighted the afternoon for the Cowboys. At 133 pounds, redshirt freshman John Thompson knocked off teammate and three-year starter Charles Walker 3-2.
Heavyweight D.J. Radnovich won a 7-5 overtime decision over teammate and two-time NJCAA National Champion James Huml. Both Walker and Huml had won the previous meetings.
Two-time All-American Reggie Wright dominated the 149-pound weight class, winning the outstanding wrestler award with three pins and a technical fall in a total time of 13:01. Meanwhile, Mark Mu?oz used a 5-3 decision to wrap up first place at 197 pounds.
Jerrod Sanders tightened his grip on the 141-pound weight class with an 11-4 decision over Clark Shouse, who wrestled unattached for the Cowboys.
At 157 pounds, Shane Roller claimed the title, and continued his assault with two falls. Meanwhile, Ty Wilcox returned to form at 165 pounds, cruising to the title with a 5-3 win over Chad Reid.
Tyrone Lewis was able to bounce back after a disappointing opener. Lewis pinned 3-of-4 opponents, winning the 174-pound weight class.
Pat Popolizio pinned Tony D'Amico in 5:42 to secure the 184-pound title and Cody Stites edged Skylar Holman 2-1 to win at 125 pounds.
The Pokes return to action on Nov. 25 at the Oklahoma Open in Norman.
