Wrestlers Win Fourth Straight Reno Duals

RENO, Nev. - Oklahoma State's top-ranked wrestling team cruised to their fourth straight Reno Duals title with a 34-7 win over sixth-ranked Central Michigan Saturday evening in Reno.
The Cowboys won their third straight outright title and tied three years ago with Nebraska in the finals of the event. This year the event was not held in a true championship format. Rather, it was a classic format and the Pokes had the best record by the most margin.
Teague Moore was quite impressive in the event. After serving his two dual suspension in a pair of duals on Friday, Moore won all three of his matches in the Duals by fall. He also started the match off as the tournament used the traditional weight order for the duals instead of the blind draw.
The Cowboys have won 53 straight duals and are 8-0 on the season. They have also won 43 straight duals away from Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Mark Smith, the top-ranked 174-pounder in the country, finished off an impressive weekend with a come-from-behind win over fourth-ranked Ryan Cunningham. Smith had two third period takedowns for the win.
Dave Anderton picked up his seventh fall of the season with a 1:21 fall over Jerred Thill.
Earlier in the day, the Cowboys defeated Boise State, 39-6 and Cal State-Bakersfield, 27-12.
The Cowboys will not wrestle again until Jan. 3 when they host Big 12 rival Nebraska.
