BOISE, Idaho - Hanna Smedstad turned a 13th-place finish in the 5,000 meters at the 78th annual NCAA Outdoor Championships here today.
Smedstad, a junior from Sundsvall, Sweden, finished the 5,000m in a time of 16:48.71. Carrie Tollefson of Villanova brought home the national championship in a time of 16:09.51.
The Big 12 Champion in the 5,000m, Leigh Daniel of Texas Tech finished second with a time of 16:12.72. Daniel won the 10,000m earlier this week. Smedstad finished ninth at the Big 12 Championships in the 5,000m.
