TEMPE, Ariz. - Oklahoma State's top-ranked wrestling team won its 55th straight dual and won the 800th dual in school history, with a 28-9 win over Arizona State, Sunday evening in Tempe, Ariz.
The Cowboys got wins in 8-of-10 matches to garner the win. Top-ranked wrestlers Teague Moore, Eric Guerrero and Mark Smith all kept their unblemished records with wins. Moore defeated Matt Azevedo, 6-0. Guerrero had a fall over Michael Kawamura and Smith had a 14-3 major decision win over Pat Catarello.
Reggie Wright also kept his record unblemished with a 8-1 win over Quinn Foster. Other winners for the Cowboys included Dave Anderton, 13-12 over Randy Laydecker, Josh Cruzan 8-5 over Erik Gladish, Jimmy Arias 3-2 over Glen Pero and Charles Walker 6-5 over Mark Perryman.
Mark Mu-oz and Ty Wilcox were the only two Cowboys to lose. Steve Blackford pinned Wilcox, 4:57 and Mu-oz dropped a 9-4 decision to fourth-ranked Casey Strand.
The Cowboys will next be in action Saturday win they travel to Iowa City for the Narional Duals.
