NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma State Cowgirl track and field team traveled to the University of Oklahoma over the weekend to take part in the annual John Jacobs Invitational.
The Cowgirls brought home two individual champions in juniors Tina Nixon and Andrene Thompson.
>Thompson ran away with the 800m win, covering the two laps in a time of 2:10.34. Nixon on the other hand brought home the long jump win and a new school record. Nixon's jump of 19-5.50 breaks an 11 year old record (19-2.25) set by Gloria Norman at the Ralph Higgins meet in Stillwater, Okla. in 1987. Nixon shared the school record with Norman when she tied the mark with her performance at the 1996 John Jacobs Invitational.
