Three Cowgirls Make Finals at Tyson Invitational

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl track team split this weekend with successful results.
Part of the team traveled to Pomona, Calif. for the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, while the other half visited Fayetteville, Ark. for the Tyson Invitational.
OSU turned in strong performances during the first day of the Tyson Invitational. Two-time All-American Sherita Jackson qualified for Saturday's final in both the 100m and 200m dash.
Jackson won the fifth heat of the 100m dash with a time of 12.05. In the 200m dash, her time of 24.41 seconds was the fastest time in preliminary heats. The finals are set for 8:15 p.m. in the 100m dash and 9:10 p.m. for the 200m dash.
In the 100m hurdles, Tiffany Davis qualified for the finals by finishing third in heat three with a time of 14.45. Davis will run at 7:50 p.m. Melinda Jackson finished fourth in the triple jump.
Alexandra Lindquist was the lone Cowgirl to compete at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Friday. Lindquist finished seventh in section one of the 800m run, turning in a time of 2:11.88.
OSU will compete in the Mt. SAC Relays on Sunday in Walnut, Calif.
