Jackson, Lindquist Capture Top Honors at Twilight Qualifier

EMPORIA, Kan. - Sherita Jackson and Alexandra Lindquist won their respective events here at the ESU Twilight Qualifier in Emporia, Kan., on Saturday.
Jackson ran away with the 200m dash, finishing in a time of 24.00 seconds. Teammate NaTasha Santee finished second in the event with a time of 24.47.
In the 800m run, the freshman Lindquist turned in a time of 2:13.20 and took home top honors.
OSU's Melinda Jackson finished second in both the long jump and the triple jump. Her jump of 19-06.75 in the long jump, set a new school record eclipsing the old mark of 19-02.25 set by Tina Nixon in 1996.
The Cowgirls' 4x100m relay team also won, its time of 46.17 was its second best of the season. They edged out Truman State who finished with a time of 47.00.
Freshman Tiffany Davis ran 14.12 in the 100m hurdles, which was good enough for second-place.
