Jackson Advances to Women's 100m Finals at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA - Two-time All-American Sherita Jackson turned in the ninth fastest qualifying time in the 100m dash at the Penn Relays here today.
Jackson's time of 11.90 seconds qualifies her for the finals, which will take place on Saturday at 2:50 p.m. Jackson will be striving to hit the provisional qualifying mark of 11.55.
The University of Texas duo of Nanceen Perry and LaKeisha Backus turned in the fastest qualifying times of the day at 11.55 and 11.56 respectively.
The Cowgirls' Melinda Jackson finished sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 39 feet, seven and a quarter inches.
On tap for Saturday will be the distance medley relay championship at 1:05 p.m.
The remainder of the OSU squad will compete in the Sooner Outdoor Invitational, which begins with the javelin at 11 a.m. Running events will begin at 1 p.m.
