Carlsen Finishes 10,000m in 13th, Lane Places 14th

BOISE, Idaho - Oklahoma State's Ren Carlsen and Nathaniel Lane finished the 10,000 meters in back-to-back fashion at the NCAA Outdoor Championships here today.
Carlsen finished the race in 30:34.90 in 13th place. He crossed the line right behind Illiniois State's Julius Mwangi, who finished in 30:34.53.
Lane finished the race behind Carlsen in 14th place with a time of 30:50.57.
Stanford's Nathan Nutter won the event in a time of 29:11.96, just edging out teammates Jason Balkman and Brent Hauser for the victory. Balkman finished in 29:12.91, while Hauser crossed the line in 29:14.07.
In another event for the Cowboys, Chuck Sloan and Andrew Hennessy will compete in the second heat of the 3,000m steeplechase preliminaries. The event is supposed to start at 7:10 p.m. Thursday with finals at 8:25 p.m. Saturday. The national meet concludes Saturday.
