McCrary Wins Texas Amateur Championship

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Oklahoma State's Maddie McCrary sank a 12-foot putt on hole No. 17 to clinch the 96th Women's Texas Golf Association State Amateur Championship, 2&1, over the University of Houston's Allie Anderson.

McCrary became the second Cowgirl in as many days to win their state amateur title. On Thursday, fellow OSU senior Alexis Sadeghy won the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship.

"It just really felt like my day," McCrary said following the victory. "This tournament is really challenging. It's a real mental grind against some great golfers, and I'm so happy that it all came together for me."

McCrary used a 30-foot birdie putt on No. 8 and a 25-foot eagle on No. 5 to help seal the match against Anderson at Texas A&M's Tradition's Club on Friday.

Earlier this year, McCrary was named All-Big 12 Conference for a third straight season, which makes her one of just nine OSU golfers to accomplish that feat.
