- The loss to the Cyclones snapped OSU's five-game winning streak, but the Cowboys have won 10 of their last 12 games heading into Saturday's showdown with No. 1/1 Kansas.
- OSU had won its previous five road games, which was tied with Kansas for the longest road winning streak among power conference schools.
- Jawun Evans led the Cowboys offense with 29 points, including 22 in the second half for his 16th career 20-point game.
- Jeffrey Carroll posted a game-high 10 rebounds on the night, which is his sixth career game with double-digit rebounds.
- The Cowboys led, 46-40, with 17:50 left in the game, but an Iowa State 21-5 run put the Cyclones ahead for good with 12:06 remaining.
- Evans splashed home 3-pointers on back-to-back trips down the floor to cut the Iowa State lead to 77-75 with 1:51 remaining. His free throws with 13.8 on the clock cut the Iowa State lead to one, 81-80, but the Cyclones scored six points in the final 10 seconds to win the game.
- Leyton Hammonds had another breakout performance with 19 points on 5-of-9 shooting from 3-point.
- Brandon Averette registered five assists tonight, which tied his career high. He had five assists in the last meeting with Iowa State.
- Oklahoma State's free throw streak ended at 35 straight makes, which is a new OSU school record and is tied for the longest streak in Big 12 history.
- Iowa State hit 10-of-19 3-pointers in the first half, which is the most by an OSU opponent since Colorado went 11-of-16 in the first half on Jan. 30, 2005.
- For the game the Cyclones hit 15 3-pointers, which are the most by an OSU opponent since Baylor hit 15 on Jan. 14, 2012.
- OSU is now 1-6 this season against AP top 25 teams, but is 1-2 over the last 12 games.
- OSU finished the month of February with a 6-2 record. Only eight OSU teams over the last 60 seasons had a better February.
- The Cyclones have now won the last nine meetings in the series with OSU overall, and the last six games in Hilton Coliseum.
- The Cowboys will return home for their final home game of the season, and pay tribute to a pair of seniors - Phil Forte III and Leyton Hammonds - as OSU hosts No. 1/1 Kansas. Tipoff from GIA is slated for 5 p.m. on ESPN and the Cowboy Radio Network.
