Game Notes
·      Oklahoma State trailed, 66-63, with 30 seconds left and Oklahoma in possession of the ball, but the Cowboys stole the ball and Mitchell Solomon made a pair of free throws to trim the Sooner advantage to 66-65 with 24 seconds left. Jawun Evans stole the inbounds pass, then missed a layup, which was rebounded by Jeffrey Carroll, who tipped it back to Evans, who kicked it out to Phil Forte for the game-winning three-pointer with 11 seconds left. The Cowboys held the Sooners on their last-ditch attempt to win the game.
·      Oklahoma State endured a poor shooting start to the game, converting only five of its first 20 attempts from the field and one of its first nine attempts from three-point range. That said, the Cowboys were able to hang around thanks to a strong showing on the offensive glass and trailed by only one at the half (36-35). OSU had more offensive rebounds in the first half (12) than OU had defensive rebounds (11) before halftime.
·      The Cowboys opened the second half with an 18-7 run that turned a 36-35 halftime deficit into a 53-43 advantage with 12:25 remaining in the game. OU responded and reclaimed the lead at 60-58 with 5:15 remaining. Poor shooting resurfaced late in the game, as the Cowboys made only two of their final 15 field goal attempts to close out the game. One of those two was a three-pointer from Lindy Waters to give the Cowboys a 61-60 lead with 4:30 left and the other was Forte's winner.
·      The reigning Big 12 Player of the Week, Jawun Evans created problems for the Oklahoma defense and got to the free throw line 16 times, making 11. His 24 points led the Cowboys and marked his ninth 20-point game of the season.
·      The Cowboys entered Monday's game ranked eighth in the nation by averaging 14.52 offensive rebounds per game. They improved on that total by grabbing 20 offensive rebounds against the Sooners. OSU grabbed 20 offensive rebounds in the contest, while Oklahoma had 24 defensive rebounds.
·      Norman native Lindy Waters III scored 11 points, marking a season-high for the freshman against a Big 12 opponent.
·      Phil Forte added to his OSU career record for three-pointers made by knocking down three treys Monday. He now has 303 three-pointers made in his career.
·      Phil Forte passed Desmond Mason for sixth on OSU's career list for points scored in Big 12 games. Forte's 817 career points scored in Big 12 play ranks sixth in school history.
