December 10, 2016 | Cowboy Basketball
- The Cowboys won their first true road game since topping Auburn, 74-63, on Jan. 30, 2016. OSU was 1-9 on the road last year, and has lost six straight true road contests.
- The Cowboys held the Hurricane without a field goal for a 6:54 stretch of the first half, and the Cowboys responded with a 20-4 run that saw them lead by as much as 29-16 with 4:51 left in the frame.
- Phil Forte hit one 3-pointer and now has 263 for his career. He is only 36 short of Keiton Page's school record. He now has 1,426 career points.
- Brandon Averette got the start at point guard and piled up a career-high 17 points.
- Jeffrey Carroll was a stat-stuffer once again. The junior tallied 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Carroll has reached double-figures in scoring in all but one game this season, and at least five rebounds in all but one game this season.
- Thomas Dziagwa scored a career-high 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting from 3-point, and hit the game-sealing free throws with 1.1 on the clock.
- The Cowboys have forced every opponent to commit at least 15 turnovers. Tonight TU turned the ball over 17 times.
- The Cowboys are now 72-38 all-time against Tulsa, including a 28-21 mark in Tulsa.
- OSU is 122-60 against current members of the American Athletic Conference. Here's the breakdown; Cincinnati (3-2), East Carolina (Never Met), Houston (12-7), Memphis (5-3), SMU (20-6), Temple (5-3), Tulane (2-1), Tulsa (72-38), Central Florida (Never Met), UConn (1-0), South Florida (2-0).
