January 27, 2016 | Cowboy Tennis, Cowgirl Tennis
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's men's and women's tennis teams made a new addition to the Greenwood Tennis Center this past week with the installation of Smart Court tennis technology created by Playsight.
"We are thrilled with the addition of the PlaySight technology at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center as this technology will not only give us the opportunity to live stream our matches on any of our 18 courts, but the smart court technology will give our players instant feedback and analysis as they develop," Cowgirl Tennis coach and OSU Director of Tennis Chris Young said.
"This addition is just one more tool that we have to use and one more feature available at one of the finest facilities in the country," Young added.
OSU is only the 12th school in the country to install PlaySight technology at its facilities. The technology provides both teams with elite performance tools such as instant replay, slow motion, drawing tools, multiple camera angles and more.
The biggest perk of adding PlaySight technology is all Oklahoma State tennis home matches will be available to watch online through a live stream on Playsight.com. All fans have to do to watch each match is visit Playsight.com, click the live tab and search or scroll down until you spot Oklahoma State University.
PlaySight's smart court technology also features HD quality streaming, automated shot tagging, reviewing matches and practice available to players and coaches who can access all the PlaySight video and stats on the kiosk by the courts, online or through the free PlaySight tennis app, which is available on Google Play and the App Store.
"We're excited to have PlaySight Smart Court technology and we are looking forward to our players using it to enhance their skills on the court," Cowboy Tennis coach Jay Udwadia said.
The technology also gives OSU tennis a significant advantage as players can work remotely with coach by being able to live stream practices and matches to a global audience, and train with the most cutting edge technology in the sport.
"We're thrilled to be working with the Cowboy and Cowgirl tennis teams, as college tennis is an incredible product full of great coaches and athletes with compelling stories and bright careers," Playsight said.
With the season underway, the Cowboy and Cowgirl tennis squads look to put their new PlaySight Smart Court technology to good use for years to come.
