Cowboys Move Into First At Pebble Beach

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team used a 10-under par total of 350 during its second round at The Carmel Cup to move to the top of the leaderboard at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The second-ranked Cowboys were one of just two teams to break par on the day and had the best round by five strokes at the par-72, 6,828-yard layout. OSU finished the day at 13-under 707 and will begin its final round seven shots clear of Oklahoma and nine ahead of Georgia.
Georgia's Trent Phillips maintained his hold on the individual lead after carding a 70 on Saturday to stand at 8-under 136.
Senior Eugenio Chacarra led the way for OSU with his second consecutive 70 to move into a tie for fourth place at 140.
Junior Brian Stark also carded a 70 during his second round to climb nine spots into a tie for 11th place at 143. Classmate Dillon Stewart signed for his second consecutive 72 to stand in a tie for 17th place at 144.
Aman Gupta bounced back after an opening 80 with a 66 to rise 25 spots into a tie for 23rd place at 146. The senior eagled the second before carding birdies at Nos. 3, 4 and 6 to turn in 3-under 33. He added four more birdies on his inward nine to get to 6 under for the day.
Junior Rayhan Thomas and sophomore Bo Jin also finished the day at 146 after carding rounds of 72 and 78, respectively.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:10 a.m. (PST) and will be grouped with Georgia, Oklahoma and Texas Tech. Live scoring for the event is available at golfstat.com.
