- Texas Tech's J'Koby Williams returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. After a three-and-out for OSU on the ensuing possession, the Red Raiders blocked the punt and were in the endzone on the next play to take a two-touchdown advantage just two minutes and four seconds into the game.
- Between the Williams kick return score and Jacob Rodriguez's 69-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the second quarter, Texas Tech had 14 non-offensive points in the first half.
- Texas Tech held a 28-0 lead at halftime. The Red Raiders' 28 first-half points came on just 176 yards of total offense.
- The Cowboy defense recorded stops on five of Texas Tech's six offensive possessions to close the first half.
- Texas Tech scored touchdowns on two of its first three offensive possessions of the second half to put the game out of reach.

- Oklahoma State's defense registered six tackles for loss to mark the third time in the last four games with five or more tackles for loss. OSU had a season-high 11 at Arizona and five tackles for loss against Cincinnati.
- The Oklahoma State defense limited Texas Tech to 370 yards of total offense in the game for the Red Raiders' second-lowest output of the season. TTU entered the game averaging 517.9 yards of total offense per game.

- Running back Sesi Vailahi made his first start of the season.
- Offensive lineman Gage Stanaland started as a tight end. It was the first start of his career.
- Sam Jackson V, who began the season as a wide receiver, made his third consecutive start at quarterback.
- Noah Walters entered the game at quarterback for Oklahoma State late in the first half. Walters transferred in following the second game of the season after attending UCF as a non-football-playing student. He played quarterback for North Alabama from 2022-23. At North Alabama, he was named the Phil Steele ASUN Conference Freshman of the Year in 2022.Â
