CULVER CITY, Calif. – Oklahoma State's 2018 recruiting class is ranked No. 12 nationally by TopDrawerSoccer.com and is the highest ranked incoming class among Big 12 Conference programs.
OSU's class includes eight student-athletes from the high school ranks, with four players hailing from Texas, a trio of international recruits and a Missouri native. The group is strong with players who have youth national team experience and who have played with high-level club teams.
"We are very excited to add this talented group of players into our program," said OSU head coach Colin Carmichael. "It's always an honor when your group is recognized as one of the top classes in the nation. Our staff worked very hard to put this group together, and that work has paid off.
"We can't wait to see them in action this fall as we defend our Big 12 regular season crown."
Among the highlights of the class are three players who appear on the IMG Academy Top 150 for 2018, with Anna Lawler at No. 28, Ally Jackson at No. 91 and Grace Yochum at No. 101.
Lawler, a defender who hails from Fenton, Mo., was recently named the Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year for the second time in her career after leading Rockwood Summit High School to a state championship and tallying six goals and six assists along the way.
Yochum was named the Houston Chronicle's All-Greater Houston Girls Soccer Player of the Year after recording 22 goals and 16 assists during her senior season at Houston's Memorial High School.
Jackson was an all-state, all-region and district player of the year in her final season at Allen High School, while the Cowgirls also inked a pair of San Antonio-area standouts in Hallie Hausman and Maddie Morris who both scored over 100 goals in their prep careers.
Each of OSU's three international recruits participated with their countries' youth national teams — Grace Neville with England, Barbara Zágonyi with Hungary and Elena Brynjarsdóttir with Iceland.
