- OSU posted a 20-win season for the 36th time in program history. The Cowboys' 15 home wins tied the school record for home wins.
- This is only OSU's second loss in the NIT in GIA. The Cowboys are 6-2 in home NIT games.
- There were 11,308 people in attendance for tonight's game, which was the largest to ever witness an NIT game at OSU and the second largest in any NIT game this year so far. Only Louisville's crowd of 13,050 against Middle Tennessee was larger.
- Among the current Big 12 schools, only three head coaches (Frank Martin-21, Sean Sutton-22 and Mike Boynton-21) won at least 20 games in their first season in their first season as a head coach since the league was formed.
- Some hot shooting from Tavarius Shine helped keep the Cowboys in the game. He shot 3-5 from the 3-point line to have 13 points.
- OSU's bench outscored Western Kentucky, 29-6.
- Mitchell Solomon stuffed the stat sheet in tonight's game. He had eight points to go along with nine rebounds.
- Kendall Smith led the Cowboys in scoring for the ninth time this season with 19 points.
- OSU has made at least one three-pointer in 584 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 13, 2001, which is the 24th longest current streak in college basketball.
