Cowgirl Soccer Defeats Mexico U-20s
March 10, 2018 | Cowgirl Soccer
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- A late goal by Camy Huddleston lifted Oklahoma State to a 1-0 win over the Mexico U-20 National Team in Saturday night's friendly at Ellis Field.
Despite being outshot 17-6 in the match, the Cowgirls converted the lone score with just over 10 minutes remaining. Charmé Morgan got the attack started by serving a ball to the near post, where Haley Woodard darted in front of the Mexico goalkeeper to flick the ball to Taylor Olson. Olson then delivered a pass to a wide-open Huddleston, who buried the opportunity into the back of the net.
Dani Greenlee and Hannah Warner combined for the shutout in goal, with Green recording a pair of saves in the opening half and Warning posting five in the final half.
OSU is now 3-0 in its spring exhibition season and returns to action Tuesday at UCO when they square off against the Bronchos at 7 p.m. in Edmond, Okla.
