STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State inked seven players to its incoming class for 2018, it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Colin Carmichael.
Â
All seven signees come from the high school ranks and include four players hailing from Texas, a pair of international recruits and a Missouri native. The group is strong with players who have youth national team experience and who have played with high-level club teams.
Â
"We're very excited about our 2018 class. This group of student-athletes should be among the most talented that we have assembled in recent years," Carmichael said. "We have addressed some needs and also added some tremendously gifted athletes to our squad. It's a nice mix of U.S.-based players and two very experienced international players. And each of these young women displays many of the attributes that we feel will enhance our program on and off the field."
Â
Hallie Hausman, F, Helotes, Texas (Classic Elite Soccer Academy ECNL) – A prolific goal scorer at San Antonio Christian School, Hausman is a two-time all-state performer who has scored over 100 goals in her prep career. As a freshman in 2015, she set a school record for goals by a freshman with 47 en route to helping her team to a state championship, and she followed that with 29 goals as a sophomore.
Â
Despite not playing as a junior, Hausman is one of only 27 prep players in the San Antonio area to ever eclipse 100-career goals, and she already has over 40 goals in her current senior season. Hausman is also a standout in track and field, where she owns the school record for the triple jump and is one of the school's top sprinters.
Â
Hausman has starred for Classic Elite Soccer Academy ECNL for six years and was a key part of a team that qualified for the ECNL National Finals in 2017.
Â
Carmichael on Hausman: "Hallie is a terrific goal scorer, a very athletic forward who has a strong physical presence and will come in and add some competition to our front line. If she can translate her goal scoring exploits from the high school to the college level, we'll have a really good forward."
Â
Ally Jackson, MF, Allen, Texas (D'Feeters ECNL) – A three-time all-district performer for Allen High School entering her senior season, Jackson was also the District 6-6A Midfielder of the Year and a first-team all-district selection as a junior after scoring 13 goals.
Â
Jackson has starred for several ECNL teams during her career and is currently a member of the D'Feeters under coach Randy Shaw. She was selected for the US Club Soccer id2 Training Camps in 2013 and 2014 and has also participated in ECNL PDP training and in the Puma National Elite Showcase.
Â
Listed as a four-star recruit by TopDrawerSoccer.com, Jackson is ranked No. 80 on the TDS.com Girls IMG Academy Top 150 for the Class of 2018 and is also No. 28 on the list of top midfielders for '18. She is regarded as the ninth-best player in Texas in her class and was named to the 2016-17 TeamSnap Texas State Stars Team.
Â
Jackson was also recruited by Kentucky, Colorado, SMU, Louisville, TCU, Auburn and Arkansas.
Â
Carmichael on Jackson: "Ally is a very technically gifted midfielder, very composed and creative, good on the ball and also carries a scoring threat. She has competed at a very high level with her club team and should contribute for us immediately."
Â
Anna Lawler, MF/D, Fenton, Mo. (St. Louis Scott Gallagher ECNL) – Lawler has starred for St. Louis Scott Gallagher ECNL over the last decade and has participated in the U.S. Girls National Team Camp. Named to the Girls Best XI at the id2 Training Camp in 2013, she has also earned a spot on the TeamSnap Missouri State Stars Team twice (in 2015-16 and 2016-17).
Â
Lawler has enjoyed a highly decorated career at Rockwood Summit High School, where she is a two-time All-American, three-time all-state performer and was named the 2016 Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year.
Â
Checking in at No. 45 on the TopDrawerSoccer.com Girls IMG Academy Top 150 for the Class of 2018, Lawler is also listed at No. 10 nationally among defenders. A four-star recruit, she is considered by TDS.com as the top player in the Heartland Region.
Â
Among the schools Lawler also considered were Kentucky, Purdue, Missouri and Colorado.
Â
Carmichael on Lawler: "Anna is a versatile player who can play in the back or the midfield. She's very strong and has a good physical presence which should translate to Division I soccer immediately. She's very good distributing the ball and also a scoring threat on set plays because she's very good in the air."
Â
Maddie Morris, F/D, Kerrville, Texas (Classic Elite Soccer Academy ECNL) – A prep standout at Our Lady of the Hills High School, Morris has eclipsed 100 career goals and counting; she tallied 30 goals as both a freshman and junior while netting a career-high 33 as a sophomore. She has earned all-state and all-district honors in each of her first three high school seasons while leading the team to three consecutive TAPPS 3A semifinal appearances.
Â
Along with fellow OSU signee Hallie Hausman, Morris is one of only 27 players in San Antonio area high school history to reach 100 career goals, and she is on the verge of entering the top 10 in all-time San Antonio prep scorers.
Â
A member of Classic Elite Soccer Academy ECNL for six years, Morris helped lead the team to the ECNL National Finals in 2017.
Â
Carmichael on Morris: "Maddie is a very athletic player who can play up top or possibly out wide. Pace, aggression and a dynamic player — those traits are going to help her coming into college, and I think she has a chance to help us immediately."
Â
Grace Neville, D, London, England (Arsenal) – One of England's top youth players, Neville has been a member of England's U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-18 National Teams and was part of an England squad that was a finalist at the 2017 UEFA Women's U-17 European Championship.
Â
Neville was named a Regional Young Sports Performer of the Year in 2017 and starred on an Arsenal team that captured Doubles Winner League and FA Cup championships.
Â
Named The Broxbourne School's best all-around female student, Neville is a cross country and 1,500-meter district champion who also participates in cricket and netball.
Â
Carmichael on Neville: "We're really excited to sign Grace. England is known as one of the best national team programs in Europe, and Grace has been a standout for them for the best part of five years. We see her playing as a wide back for us. She's very good on the ball, very fit and can get up and down the flank. She should make an immediate impact for us."
Â
Grace Yochum, MF, Houston, Texas (Albion Hurricanes ECNL) – Yochum is an all-district and all-region performer at Memorial High School and stars for Albion Hurricanes ECNL and coach Rafa Brazo. She has also participated with the U.S. Youth National Team.
Â
Also a star on the basketball court, Yochum is Memorial's career leader in steals and a McDonald's All-American nominee.
Â
Yochum is considered a three-star recruit by TopDrawerSoccer.com, which also lists her as the 16th-best player in the Texas Region. She was also recruited by SMU, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Baylor and Texas A&M, among others.
Â
Carmichael on Yochum: "Grace can play anywhere in the midfield and has been playing a little up front as well so she's a very versatile player. She's a gifted athlete, tenacious, aggressive, very good on the ball, and she can finish really well. She should compete for minutes immediately."
Â
Barbi Zágonyi, MF, Biatorbágy, Hungary (Ferencvárosi Torna) – A captain on Hungary's U-17 National Team, Zágonyi also played on three championship teams at the Hungarian youth level. Also a standout at the club level for Ferencvárosi Torna, she has recorded 47 goals in nearly 200 games.
Â
Carmichael on Zágonyi: "We're really excited to add Barbi, our first Hungarian recruit. She's one of the best prospects coming through Hungary's youth national system, and she can play many positions — center back, center mid, even up front — and that versatility is going to be great for our program. She's very good on the ball, has great vision, picks a great pass and also chips in with goals."
