- OSU earned its first victory in Allen Fieldhouse since future NBA draft picks Marcus Smart and Markel Brown led the Cowboys to victory in 2013. This is the Cowboys 12th win in Allen Fieldhouse in 73 tries.Â
- This is the third win over a ranked opponent for OSU, including its second top-10 victory in 2017-18. It is the Cowboys 51st win against a top-10 team.
- OSU won its first true road game of the year, improving to 1-5 on the road.
- Cameron McGriff entered the starting five in Lawrence and responded with a career high. He set a career high in points scored with 20. His previous high was 16 points at Baylor.
- McGriff continued to defend the paint by blocking two shots. He had a career high four blocks last time out against TCU.
- This game was the 119th in Mitchell Solomon's career, which ties Nick Sidorakis (2007-2011) for 24th in OSU history.
- Mitchell Solomon grabbed his 268th career offensive rebound against Kansas, which moved him into fourth place in school history in the category. He needs 95 more offensive boards to tie Cowboy legend Bryant Reeves (1991-95) for third.
- Jeffrey Carroll notched his first victory at Allen Fieldhouse. He now has a win at every Big 12 venue except for Hilton Coliseum.
- Carroll passed Kevin Fitzgerald (1970-73) for career points scored with 1,225 which now ranks him at 25th in school history. He has reached double-figures scoring in 44 of his 53 games played.Â
- Carroll also passed Terrel Harris (2005-09) on OSU's career 3-pointers made list. The senior now has made 156 3-pointers in his career and ranks 11th in OSU history.
- Kendall Smith has reached double figures in his last four appearances, which is a season-best for the graduate transfer from CSUN. He led the Cowboys with 24 points.
- The Cowboys scored 46 points in the first half, which ties their highest scoring first half in Big 12 play.
- Lindy Waters III has reached double figures in scoring in each of the last four games, which is a career high for the sophomore.
- With 15 blocks in his last six games, Yankuba Sima is rounding into form as a defensive paint presence for the Cowboys. As a freshman at St. John's, Sima averaged 2.4 blocks per game, which ranked 22nd nationally.
- OSU has made at least one three-pointer in 570 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 13, 2001, which is the 24th longest current streak in college basketball.
- The Cowboys were active on the glass in the first half with 13 offensive rebounds.
- OSU out rebounded Kansas 41-28 and is 10-2 when out-rebounding its opponent.
