Reeves, Solomon Earn Academic All-Big 12 Honors

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Trey Reeves and Mitchell Solomon were named to the Academic All-Big 12 Men's Basketball Team, the league announced Thursday.
Reeves and Solomon represent the 37th and 38th Academic All-Big 12 selections for Oklahoma State since the league was founded in 1996-97.
Reeves was the only Big 12 player nominated with a perfect 4.0 GPA, which earned the Gans, Oklahoma native a first-team selection. Last season, the sophomore Accounting major was named to the 2016-17 Academic All-Rookie team.
Reeves, an integral member of the Cowboy basketball team, has appeared in seven games this season, and scored a memorable bucket in the Big 12/SEC Challenge game at Arkansas.
Solomon was named to the second team Academic All-Big 12 for the second time in career. The senior Mechanical Engineering Technology major ranks fourth in the Big 12 with 3.0 offensive rebounds per game, and his 551 career boards rank 23rd in Cowboy basketball history.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests.
The Cowboys are coming off a win over No. 6 Texas Tech on Wednesday night, and will head to Austin, Texas to face the Longhorns on Saturday at 1 p.m.
