Cowboys Move Into Fourth During Second Round At Aggie Invite

BRYAN, Texas – Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up the first day of action at the Aggie Invitational on Saturday with a 36-hole total of 580 to stand alone in fourth place at Traditions Golf Club.
The Cowboys opened with a 299, putting them in eighth place before rising four spots with their 7-under 281 during the afternoon round. LSU finished the day with an 11-under 565 score to hold a one-shot lead over the field at the par-72, 7,146-yard layout.
Michigan's Kyle Mueller carded consecutive 69s to stand at 6-under 138 and one stroke ahead of a quartet of players, including OSU's Zachary Olsen.
Olsen opened with a 70 before posing a 69 during his second round to rise five spots into the runner-up slot.
Freshman Viktor Hovland followed an opening 73 with a 69 of his own to stand at 142 and tied for eighth place, while junior Kristoffer Ventura rallied after an opening 79 with a 70 to climb 25 spots into a tie for 31st place at 149.
Sophomore Hayden Wood finished the day tied for 43rd place at 150 after posting scores of 77 and 73. Classmate Zach Bauchou carded rounds of 79 and 74 to come in with a 153 total and alone in 55th place.
Competing individually, junior Brendon Jelley signed for scores of 73 and 76 to finish the day tied for 31st place at 149.
A trio of Cowboys are playing as individuals this weekend at the Hoosier Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., as well.
Redshirt freshman Tyson Reeder used a 68 during his second round to move into the top 10, finishing the day tied for 10th place at 1-under 141.
Junior Stratton Nolen carded rounds of 72 and 71 to stand in a tie for 17th place at 143. Sophomore Nick Heinen's 148 tally included rounds of 73 and 75, tying him for 49th place.
The Cowboys will begin their final round at 7:50 a.m. tomorrow and will be grouped with Texas and North Carolina.
