Texas Postgame Notes
February 11, 2017 | Cowboy Basketball
- The victory moves the Cowboys to 16-9 on the year and 5-7 in Big 12 play. OSU jumps Texas Tech in the Big 12 standings and is now tied with K-State for sixth place.
- This gives OSU wins in six of their last seven games, which is the program's most prosperous stretch after the turn of the New Year since the 2012-13 squad won seven straight in Big 12 play.
- The Cowboys took the lead midway through the first half thanks to a 20-2 run (13-0 run included). The Cowboys held the Longhorns scoreless for nearly four and a half minutes. The Cowboys led by as many as 20 with 7:14 remaining in the second half.
- The second-highest scoring offense in Big 12 history racked up 84 points today against the Longhorns. The only Big 12 team to ever average more points per game than this year's Cowboys was the 2001-02 Kansas squad (90.9).
- The Cowboys knocked down 10 3-pointers today, which is the team's 10th games with double-digit 3-pointers.
- OSU shot exactly 50.0 percent on the day, which is the team's 10th game shooting 50 percent or better.
- Davon Dillard posted a career-high 15 points and eight rebounds. It marks his third double-digit scoring game in the last six games. He has scored at least eight points in five of the last six outings.
- Forte now has 1,655 career points, which passed Keiton Page (1,651 points, 2008-12) for ninth in OSU history in career points.
- After going scoreless in his last two games, senior Leyton Hammonds posted 11 points on 3-of-3 shooting from 3-point.
- Oklahoma State is now 14-5 when leading at the half this season.
- The win snapped Texas' three-game win streak over OSU, and narrow the Longhorns lead in the overall series to 49-42.
- Cowboy head coach Brad Underwood is now 105-23 on his career. That moves his win percentage to .820, which is tops among all active coaches.
- The Cowboys will head to Fort Worth, Texas to face TCU on Wednesday, Feb. 15. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. on ESPNU.
