- OSU falls to 10-3 on the year, with every loss coming to a team currently ranked in the AP top-10. OSU has faced a Big-12-high four ranked opponents this season.
- The Cowboys came into the game 3rd in the country in free throw shooting with a mark of 80.5 percent. They shot 69 percent, going 25-36 from the charity stripe.
- The Cowboys just missed out on the program's 50th all-time victory over an AP top-10 squad.Â
- This was just the 12th meeting in the overall series between OSU and West Virginia, and the Mountaineers now lead 7-5. The Cowboys won the previous matchup, 82-75, in Morgantown, W.Va., on Feb. 4.
- WVU has won the last four meetings in Stillwater, which ties Iowa State for the longest current win streak in Stillwater by any team.Â
- This was the ninth straight meeting between these two programs in which at least one of the two teams was ranked. WVU has been ranked in each of the last seven matchups and has won six of them.
- The Cowboys shot 64 percent in the first half, which is the best half shooting percentage since they shot 65.2 percent in the first half against Texas Tech on Jan. 21, 2017.
- The 46 points OSU scored are the most WVU allowed in a first half this season. The only half a WVU opponent scored more was Marist's 52-point second half.
- The Cowboys forced 18 turnovers, which is most turnovers the Mountaineers have had in a game this season.
- Mitchell Solomon proved why he is leading the Big 12 in offensive rebounding this season. He hauled in four offensive rebounds in this game. He finished with nine points and eight rebounds.
- Tavarius Shine filled up the stat sheet in the first half with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Four of his rebounds came on the offensive glass.
- OSU had 11 steals and it was the fourth time this season it has had 10 or more steals in a game.
- OSU dominated the paint in the first half. It outscored WVU 20-6 in points in the paint.
- The Cowboys managed to slow down the Mountaineers and the Cowboys outscored them 19-5 in fast break points.
- Jeffrey Carroll's 17 points gives him 1,061 for his career, which puts him 3 points behind Marcus Smart for 35th place in program history. Carroll has reached double figure scoring in 36 out of the last 43 games.
- Kendall Smith has at least two assists in every game this season after finishing with two assists tonight.
- OSU has made at least one three-pointer in 560 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 13, 2001, which is the 24th longest current streak in college basketball.
